VETERAN, FOSTER YOUTH, EOPS, DSPS AND CALWORKS STUDENTS

April 28, 2014 using PAWS online registration

STUDENT ATHLETES, TRIO, AND DSPS NOTE TAKERS

April 29, 2014 using PAWS online registration

April 30 - May 7, 2014 using PAWS online registration

K-16 BRIDGE STUDENTS
May 9 - 10, 2014 using PAWS online registration
May 12, 2014 using PAWS online registration

Students must have submitted an Application for Admission between April 1st and May 8th to register on May 12th.

August 11, 2014 using PAWS online registration
*Provided that your approved Concurrent Enrollment Petition is on file in the Admissions Office by August 8, 2014 at 1pm.
Otherwise, In-Person registration may still be completed. All registration for this group is processed on a first-come; first-serve basis.

NOTE:K -8 students MUST register using In-Person registration at Main Campus, Alisal Campus, or the King City Education Center.
AVOID THE LONG LINES!!
Concurrent Students enrolled in 9 -12 grades may register using PAWS online registration August 11 - 14, 2014.

K-12 Concurrent Enrollment students will have all enrollment fees waived.

7 Steps for Registration

STEP 1:

Apply

a) Complete and submit an Application for Admission.
Apply on-line or download the paper application and submit to the Admissions and Records Office.
*If applicable, complete the California Nonresident Tuition Exemption Request.

b) Apply for Financial Aid. Apply on line on the FAFSA website or complete the Board of Governors Fee Waiver (BOGW) application and submit to the Financial Aid Office. For any questions call the Financial Aid office at (831) 755-6806.

STEP 2:

Orientation

There are 2 ways to complete the orientation requirement.

A) Complete the on-line Orientation

b) If you need more comprehensive preparation for academic success consider registering for a Counseling 1-Student Success Seminar Course. These courses assist students in college success and are UC/CSU accepted. 

STEP 3:

Assessment

Make an appointment AND complete the STAAR* Assessment.Assessment is mandatory if enrolling in 6.0 or more units or any English (including ESL) or Math course unless exempt. Call (831) 759-6054 for an appointment at least two weeks before registering.

The assessment test is very important in determining your course sequences. Be sure to prepare for the assessment test.  Student guides and sample questions are available at: Study Guide or Additional Study Guide

STEP 4:

Counseling - Develop an Educational Plan with a Counselor

All students should schedule an appointment to meet with a counselor to discuss academic goals and develop an Educational Plan. Call (831) 755-6820 to schedule an appointment.

The counselor can also assist with checking for prerequisites for all your classes. Remember to bring copies of transcripts from high school and/or previous colleges attended.Submit official transcripts from high school and/or colleges attended to Admissions & Records at least two weeks before registering.

STEP 5:

Register

Register online using P.A.W.S. for Students

Concurrent enrollment students less than 9th grade must register in person. Please consult the schedule of classes for dates and times.

STEP 6:

Pay Fees

Pay all registration fees by the payment deadline date to avoid being dropped from your classes. Please see the payment deadline schedule.

Pay on-line at Paws for Students

STEP 7:

Hartnell College CatCard

Visit the Associated Students of Hartnell College Office to obtain or update your CatCard. Bring a copy of proof of payment of enrollment fees.
