The Panthers ended their non-conference portion of the schedule Saturday with an 0-5 record after falling to host Reedley, 32-14. Hartnell begins its conference season Saturday at 6 p.m. against Cabrillo at Salinas High Stadium. Hartnell continued its habit of allowing scores in the final two minutes of the first half. Reedley scored twice in the final two minutes — the last coming on a 26-yard fumble return with 35 seconds left before halftime to stake Reedley to a 22-0 lead. Twice in the first quarter Hartnell stopped Reedley inside the 20-yard-line. The Panthers trailed 29-0 before scoring a pair of touchdowns in the final quarter. A 72-yard interception return by Adrian Blue led to Hartnell's first score. Alvin Jelks scored on a two-yard run with 4:27 to play in the game. Brad Smet then scored on a 19-yard run in the final seconds. Hartnell was held to 49 yards rushing on 29 carries. Kairo Small keyed the Hartnell defense with 12 tackles, including a pair of sacks. Defensive back Mark Ramos had 10 tackles while Blue, in addition to his interception, had seven tackles and four assists.
