Hartnell Sports Medicine

Welcome to the Hartnell College Sports Medicine web site. The program is supervised by David Beymer M.S. A.T.C. David has been the Head Athletic Trainer and an Instructor at Hartnell College since August of 1994. His prior athletic training experience includes being the Head Athletic Trainer at Ohlone College from 1991 to 1994, working as a Graduate Assistant Athletic Trainer at the University of Arizona from 1989 to 1991, serving as a Student Athletic Trainer at Central Washington University from 1984 to 1989, and working as a training camp intern for the Seattle Seahawks for the 1987 and 1988 seasons.

Hartnell College offers...

a transfer preparation program in Athletic Training. Hartnell allows you to get the hands on experience in athletic training that you need before you enter an accredited athletic training program. In order to work in the training room, you need to be enrolled in one of the following classes:

PE 15 - Care and Prevention of Athletic Injuries (4 units)
PE 116 – Practical Field Experience in Care and Prevention of Athletic Injuries (2 units)
PE 117 – Practical Field Experience in Care and Prevention of Athletic Injuries (2 units)
PE 118 – Practical Field Experience in Care and Prevention of Athletic Injuries (2 units)

Will also help you enter an accredited athletic training program at a four-year school:
HED 2 - Health Education (3 units)
HED 55 - Advanced First Aid (3 units)
BIO 5 - Human Anatomy (4 units)
BIO 6 - Introductory Physiology (3 units)
