Honorary degrees may be awarded at commencement or some other equally appropriate time. Honorary degrees may be awarded to persons involved in college or community activities or to persons exhibiting professional achievements or exemplary scholarship or persons making outstanding contributions to society. The names of persons receiving honorary degrees must be approved by the Hartnell College Trustees in advance and there shall be sufficient time for review. The Superintendent/President has established procedures for the implementation of this policy. These procedures are located in the Office of the Superintendent/President.
