The Hartnell Planetarium Friday Evening Star Show in March is "Back to the Moon For Good" This program gives an overview of past missions to our nearest neighbor and shows teams from around the world as they compete to land a robotic spacecraft on the Moon. To win the $30 million Google Lunar XPRIZE, a team must land their space probe on the Moon, navigate the lunar surface, and then send video, images and data back to Earth. This global competition is designed to spark imagination and inspire a renewed commitment to space exploration, not by governments or countries – but by the citizens of the world. A tour of the night sky on the planetarium dome precedes the program. Cost for Friday Evening Programs is $6 General, $4 for Students, Youth, Seniors and Military. Pay at the door by cash or check only. Doors open 15 minutes before show time. "Back to the Moon For Good" plays at 7pm on March 6th, 13th, 20th, and 27th. Telescope viewing may be available after the program, weather permitting
