Hartnell College has been an active leader in the Salinas Valley community for more than 85 years.
We are in the business of education, and to that end we offer credit and non-credit course options to everyone who can benefit from those programs. We are always looking for ways that our courses and programs can be more responsive to the needs of our community, and we have recently conducted a community needs assessment to aid us in planning to meet those needs.
We invite you to the campus to learn about our programs and to enjoy many other community treasures. You may enjoy coming to the theater, as we have one of the area’s finest theater organizations, The Western Stage, in residence. You can come to an athletic contest, a public lecture, an engaging show in our planetarium, or use our state-of-the art library.
Hartnell offers a wide array of programs and courses for the entire community:
- For recreation, academic interest, and personal and professional development, you may want to sign up for courses offered by our Business Assistance Center.
- We have arts and athletics camps for children throughout the summer, and host a Family Science and Health Day in the spring.
- If you are interested to become a foster parent or are a foster child who is nearing graduation and would like support in independent living, we offer programs through our Family Matters programs.
- Each semester, we host weekly international community dinners.
- We have an Early Childhood Education Center, an English Language Institute, and much, much more.
We also rent out our facilities for community-based groups who need large meeting spaces or athletic facilities.
Check out our calendar to see what’s happening, and then come be part of your community college.
