Constitution Day

September 17 is Constitution Day and Citizenship Day (Constitution Day).

Constitution Day commemorates the signing of the U.S. Constitution on Sept. 17, 1787, and also celebrates “all who, by coming of age or naturalization, have become citizens.”  If Constitution Day falls on a weekend, as it did in 2005, 2006, and 2011, it is observed on the contiguous weekday.

Each educational institution that receives Federal funds for a fiscal year is required to hold an educational program about the U.S. Constitution for its students.

Please watch Hartnell College’s website in early September for Constitution Day activities scheduled on September 17th annually.
