CURRICULUM SIMPLIFIED
In an effort to expedite the
curriculum process, what appears below is an abbreviated step-by-step
process of the procedures faculty should follow to either create or revise a
course with the end result of that course appearing in the Hartnell Catalog.
For more details on the process, please consult the flowchart and complete
procedures at http://www.hartnell.edu/curriculum/revised_course_flowchart.html
for revised courses and
http://www.hartnell.edu/curriculum/new_course_flowchart.html for new courses.
For details pertaining to each item on the flowchart just point and click on
the item and a subsequent page will appear.
Prior to your curriculum
being read by the Curriculum Committee, your course outline packet should be
reviewed by the Technical Review Committee (the consolidation of the Tech 1 Committee
and the Tech 2 Committee.) A schedule of packet due dates is on page 2. The
presence of the originator/representative of curriculum is required at both the
Technical Review Committee meeting and the Curriculum Committee meeting. Please
note catalog deadline dates (also on page 2). While creating or revising
curriculum is time consuming, every effort is being made by volunteers to help
you with this process!
If you have questions about
any of the part of the process, please contact the chair (Kathy Mendelsohn,
ext. 6743, or kmend@hartnell.edu) or your area Curriculum Committee
representative, available from the Senate or your area dean for assistance.
