I began my teaching career at Hartnell College in August of 2014 in the Respiratory Care Program.  I have been a Respiratory Care Practitioner since 1998.  I am originally from Tyler, Texas, and moved to California after meeting and marrying my husband, Jon.  My love of caring for people of all ages with respiratory illnesses inspired me to become an instructor and teach a new generation about this fulfilling occupation.

I graduated from Tyler Junior College with an Associate's Degree in Respiratory Therapy. I obtained my Registered Respiratory Therapist certification, as well as my Neonatal-Pediatric Specialist certification.  I continued to advance my education, receiving my Bachelor's Degree in Respiratory Care and my Master of Educational Technology from Boise State University.

I worked for several years in the clinical environment, with a focus in neonatal intensive care.  After serving as a supervisor/educator in the hospital, I started my teaching career at Hartnell College.  The combination of classroom instruction and spending time with students in the clinical environment is very satisfying.

Being able to care for and comfort people in the hospital environment was extremely rewarding and I hope to inspire students as they pursue their goal of becoming a Respiratory Care Practitioner.
