Email Instructions for Students

How to get started with Student Email

 

To use your college email account, go to mail.student.hartnell.edu to login and follow the log-in procedures as outlined below. For in-depth email FAQs visit the Gmail Help Center.

 

Enter your Username

Enter your Password

Use your first name middle initial last name, as one long word:

  • Example: If your name is John Michael Smith, your username would be: johnmsmith@student.hartnell.edu


If you don't have a middle name, your email address is your first name and last name together:

  • Example: johnsmith@student.hartnell.edu


If another student has the same name as you, a four-digit number will be added after your name:

  • Example: for two students with the name Maria Lucy Ortiz username would be: marialortiz0001@student.hartnell.edu  and marialortiz0002@student.hartnell.edu

Initial passwords are your eight digit date of birth mmddyyyy
(students who registered before 3-14-11 will use a 6 digit date of birth mmddyy) 

  • For example if you were born on February 14, 1985 your initial password: 02141985 


It is STRONGLY recommended that you change your password.

Calendar

Organize your life – keep a calendar for yourself, share calendars with your friends, and subscribe to public calendars to stay on top of events on campus.

Hangouts

Chat or make video calls with friends and classmates.  Get started with Hangouts inside your Google mail.

Google Drive

Create and share documents, spreadsheets, and presentations online, and download them to your favorite desktop applications. Great for collaborative projects, in and out of class.

Google Sites
