Dependability
Student Expectations
This class is scheduled to meet five hours per week, except during holidays. Students are expected to attend all class sessions including the final examination. Attendance will be taken each class meeting with absences, tardies, and leaving class early reflecting the student's dependability. A student is allowed one excused absence and two tardies a semester before they are considered undependable and begin to lose attendance points. After one excused absence, and for each unexcused absence, the student will lose "fifteen" ("ten" for the M,W,F class) points for each absence. An excused absence is one where the student informs the instructor, by phone or personal contact, that they will be absent on a specific day. Tardies and leaving class early are very disruptive to the class. Therefore, after two tardies or early departures or combinations of the two, the student will lose "three" points for each additional circumstance.

Note: Students with high dependability, perfect attendance, no absences or tardies will receive twenty five (25) bonus points at the end of the semester. Those students who remain within the framework of the dependability policy, one excused absence and two tardies, will receive a five (5)-point bonus at the end of the semester. Those students who miss more than ten hours of class this semester will be dropped from the class.
