Evaluation
Sections: The class will be divided into four sections:

SECTION I - Chapters 1, 2, 3, 4.

SECTION II - Chapters 5, 6, 7, 9.

SECTION III - Chapters 10, 11, 13.

SECTION IV - Comprehensive Exam

Each Section will consist of approximately 150 Points. For Sections I,II, & III these 150 Points can be earned in one of two ways. There will be three 50 point quizzes on the individual chapters, or there will be a test of 150 points on the whole section. The student will receive the better of the two grades for the section, the total of the three quizzes or the grade on the test. The student has the opportunity to take all quizzes and tests, and then accept the higher grade of the two.

Quizzes:
Quizzes will be given on each chapter. These quizzes will "probably" be planned quizzes, which will be announced in class. The quiz usually consists of an instructor created problem from the chapter, but could also be one of the writing assignments or the grading of homework.

Examinations (Tests):
Three Tests and a Comprehensive Examination will be given this semester. The first three tests will be on the sections. You may use each one of these section tests to improve the total points you have accumulated from the three quizzes from that section, you will not lower your quiz points from this section. These tests will be Multiple Choice and Fill in the Blanks test. These tests are optional, and can only improve your grade. A Comprehensive Examination will be given at the end of the semester. This will be a Multiple Choice, Fill in the Blanks, and Essay test consisting of 150 points.
NOTE: Because this system allows the student to make up for quizzes and tests by additional test opportunities, there will be no make up quizzes or examinations.

Written Assignments/Group Projects:
The students will participate in an annual report analysis of a publicly held company. There are seven projects, which the students are required to complete this semester. These projects will begin as individual written assignments and develop into comparative group analysis of the companies, and finish with a final group project that determines which stocks in your group will or will not be bought, sold, or held for a longer period of time. These written projects are worth 120 points, with specific due dates and penalties for being handed in late.
