Health Sciences Program
It has become increasingly clear that there is a vast need in the Valley for people trained with an associate’s degree in various health sciences fields that support our local hospitals and clinics. While Hartnell has long provided training for two levels of nursing, and more recently in other health fields, it would now like to consolidate its present offerings and combine them with new offerings to become the undisputed leader in providing a trained, expert workforce in the health professions.
Hartnell's new health profession curriculum should provide training in nursing, phlebotomy, medical laboratory technology, medical billing and coding, radiologic technology, physical therapy assistantships, and more.
Private funding is needed to start up these new programs in a careful and systematic manner that meets the needs of our community for a trained workforce and that provides the means to a comfortable living for students through the acquisition of pertinent new skills.
