Two Poems by Krys Jagger

The Exquisite Pain

                                          My heart wasn’t enough.

There were traces of skin,

                                           some vertebrates,

                                                            and a piece of femur.

                                       I gave them away piece by p i e c e,

my lungs,

kidneys, liver and some bones here

                                                               and there…

                     Finally I surrendered the heart,

and it still wasn’t enough

Beauty

Wagering the truths
Not understood
Till the hour is late
And the choices have long since been made

Beauty is a bankrupt currency
Only realized after time lays waste the riches.
