REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES:
- Coordinate with on-campus and off-campus programs to assist student in the transition from welfare to independence.
- Monitor CARE student progress toward educational goals (AA degree, transfer, job out, etc.)
- Prepare and maintain reports, files, records and correspondence related to program.
- Verify annual eligibility for CARE students currently enrolled in the program.
- Provide an overview of the CARE program to interested students and assist students in applying for the program.
- Meet with students individually to review applications for accuracy and assist students in applying for Financial Aid.
- Coordinate and assist CARE counselor with orientations; arrange facilities and speakers from on campus and off-campus programs, agencies and referral service.
- Coordinate meal vouchers for CARE students in the Hartnell Cafeteria.
- Schedule and make personal visits to the department of Social Services and One-Stop Career Center for the purpose of recruiting.
- Review EOPS files to assure current and accurate information.
- Refer EOPS/CARE students to workshops, programs and other resources.
- Answer incoming calls, schedule counseling appointments and prepare mass mailings.
- Establish and maintain effective and positive relationships with faculty and staff.
- Work collaboratively with Hartnell College departments.
- Operate a computer, assigned software and other office equipment.
- Perform other related duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS: *
- Any combination equivalent to: graduation from high school.
- An Associate's degree, desired.
- Three years clerical experience involving frequent public contact and computer operation.
- Bilingual (Eng/Spanish) and outreach presentation skills, desired.
- A valid California driver license.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Regular, part-time
(30 hours per week), 12 months per year classified position. Hours: Monday-Friday, 10:00am-5:00pm. Starting: $15.78 hour, Range:
$15.78 to $19.18 hour (5 Steps) - Vacation and sick leave are accrued on a pro-rated
basis. Must become a member of the Public Employees’ Retirement System
(PERS) and the California School Employees Association (CSEA). The District
pays the classified employee’s contribution to PERS. Position contingent
on grant funding.
All offers of employment are contingent upon approval by the Board of Trustees, receipt of official transcripts verifying the degree stipulated under the minimum qualifications section, employment verification, and any other pertinent documentation.
Individual selected is required to be fingerprinted and must submit to a tuberculosis examination.
