REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES

- Perform duties related to administration of the District’s recruitment and selection program for faculty, administrative and classified employees; assure compliance with federal and State employment laws, rules and regulations.
- Communicate with employees, supervisors and administrators concerning human resources recruitment and selection policies and procedures and related legal requirements.
- Conduct hiring searches; utilize a variety of sources to identify potential candidates.
- Assure compliance with District policies and State and federal guidelines, laws and regulations concerning recruitment, selection and employment.
- Create and distribute job announcements and advertisements for academic, administrative and classified position vacancies; distribute, receive and pre-screen applications to assure qualified candidates for employment; orient and instruct screening committees and interview panels.
- Maintain files, records and lists related to employment; process employee status forms; prepare correspondence involving personnel transactions.
- Interpret College rules, regulations and policies and provide related information to employees and applicants.
- Schedule interview panels and review of applications by the screening committee; establish deadlines; perform reference checks on finalists and correspond with Department of Justice; notify applicants of status; monitor fingerprint activities; prepare records on recruitment activities as directed; coordinate candidate testing.
- Prepare, process and record data, reports, statistics and other documents related to the human resources recruitment and selection programs; compose correspondence independently or as requested by the Human Resources Supervisor; update and maintain various databases.
- Perform related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS*
- Any combination equivalent to: College course work in personnel management, public administration or related field and two years of increasingly responsible generalist experience in a public personnel or human resources environment.
- Must be sensitive to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic,
cultural, disability and ethnic backgrounds of community college students
and the community-at-large.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
Regular, full-time, 12 months per year position. Starting
monthly salary: $3,568; Range: $3,568 to $4,340 (5 steps). District-assisted
health and welfare coverage for employee and dependents includes medical, dental,
and vision. District-assisted life, accident and income protection insurance
is provided for the employee only. Must become a member of the Public Employees’ Retirement System
(PERS).
All offers of employment are contingent upon approval by the Board of Trustees, receipt of official transcripts verifying the degree stipulated under the minimum qualifications section, employment verification, and any other pertinent documentation.
Individual selected is required to be fingerprinted and must submit to a tuberculosis examination.
