INSTITUTIONAL RESEARCH ANALYST

REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES

  • Develop institutional research designs and apply computer tools, statistical measures and data collection techniques.
  • Develop and maintain a data warehouse and other databases using appropriate computer software.
  • Develop data collection instruments and procedures.
  • Collect data using appropriate instruments and procedures.
  • Analyze data using statistical computer software and other tools.
  • Organize and present research-based information, analysis and interpretation clearly and effectively, in narrative.
  • Communicate orally and in writing with college personnel and others.
  • Evaluate and respond to requests originating from within and outside the institution; work with requesters to clarify their needs and optimize the utility of research results.
  • Provide technical assistance to college personnel.
  • Serve on assigned committees.



QUALIFICATIONS*

  • Must be sensitive to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability and ethnic backgrounds of community college students and the community-at-large.
  • Any combination equivalent to: A Bachelor's in education, social science, business, statistics, computer science or related field from an accredited institution and one year experience conducting research or evaluating programs.



DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS*

  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Training or experience in statistics, measurement, and research methods.
  • Highly proficient in Excel and Access on a PC (experience with SPSS a plus).

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

Regular, full-time, 12 months per year position. Starting monthly salary: $3,488; Range: $3,488 to $4,237 (5 steps). District-assisted health and welfare coverage for employee and dependents includes medical, dental, and vision. District-assisted life, accident and income protection insurance is provided for the employee only. Must become a member of the California School Employees Association (CSEA) and the Public Employees' Retirement System (PERS). The District pays the classified employee's contribution to PERS. Position is contingent upon renewal of annual grant funding.



All offers of employment are contingent upon approval by the Board of Trustees, receipt of official transcripts verifying the degree stipulated under the minimum qualifications section, employment verification, and any other pertinent documentation.

Individual selected is required to be fingerprinted and must submit to a tuberculosis examination.
