REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES
- Perform a full range of secretarial duties and assist the supervisor with a variety of clerical, technical and routine administrative duties; facilitate communications between the supervisor and staff, public and other campus personnel.
- Review and proof documents, records and forms for accuracy, completeness and conformance to applicable rules and regulations.
- Operate computer equipment for the preparation and maintenance of a variety of documents, correspondence, reports and related materials; utilize word processing, desktop publishing, spreadsheet, database or other software as required by the position.
- Collect and compile statistical and financial data and other information for inclusion into special and periodic reports.
- Monitor budgets and maintain financial records for the assigned department; order and maintain office supplies and other materials; maintain current account balances.
- Communicate information in person or by telephone where judgment, knowledge and interpretation of policies and regulations are necessary.
- Coordinate activities of assigned office between the supervisor and staff, the public or other District officials.
- Receive, open and distribute mail; receive visitors, arrange travel, schedule appointments, answer telephone calls and refer to appropriate staff members.
- Edit and prepare a variety of correspondence, memoranda, reports and other materials; record and transcribe minutes; compose routine correspondence.
- Train and provide work direction to others as assigned; recommend new and revised office procedures as appropriate.
- Establish and maintain positive staff and public relations.
- Operate a variety of office machines and equipment, including typewriter, copier, calculator, and transcription equipment.
- Arrange and schedule a variety of meetings and conferences.
QUALIFICATIONS*
- Any combination equivalent to: Graduation from high school supplemented by college-level course work in business, secretarial science or related field and two years of responsible secretarial and clerical experience.
- The ability to type at least 45 words net per minute from clear copy.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish), strongly desired..

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
Regular, full-time, 12 months per year position. Hours: 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday to Friday. This position will also require traveling to program sites (middle schools & high school). Salary range: $2,492 to $3,032 (5 steps). District-assisted health and welfare coverage for employee and dependents includes medical, dental, and vision. District-assisted life, accident and income protection insurance is provided for the employee only. Must become a member of the California School Employees Association (CSEA) and the Public Employees' Retirement System (PERS). The District pays the classified employee's contribution to PERS. This is a grant- funded position.
All offers of employment are contingent upon approval by the Board of Trustees, receipt of official transcripts verifying the degree stipulated under the minimum qualifications section, employment verification, and any other pertinent documentation.
Individual selected is required to be fingerprinted and must submit to a tuberculosis examination.
