I was honored to present a workshop on “serving the underserved” at the Annual Meeting of the American Association of Colleges and Universities (AAC&U) held Jan. 23-25 in Atlanta.

I shared information on Hartnell’s CSin3 computer science partnership with California State University, Monterey Bay in a joint presentation with colleagues from Berkeley City College and Marion Technical College (Ohio). We all shared models of asset-based, equity-minded educational programs.

I am pictured here with my co-presenters. It also was wonderful to have colleagues from CSUMB attend the presentation: Dr. Jose Luis Alvarado, dean of the School of Education; Dr. Andrew Lawson, dean of the School of Science; and Dr. Bonnie Irwin, provost and vice president of academic affairs.
