Holiday Feast - Prizes and surprises to be had

On Friday, December 8, 2017, we hosted the Holiday Feast for all employees. Steinbeck Hall was festive with Holiday cheer and beautifully packed with faculty and staff. This has become a tradition to celebrate the Holidays and the end of another year.

As part of the program, the ‘I am Hartnell’ awards were given to a student, faculty, staff, and administrator. Employees and students submitted nominations during the fall semester to recognize those who are making an impact in the institution. The 59 nominations were reviewed by student, faculty, and staff members of the committee; these committee members were the winners from last year. Those awarded were:

Herbert Cortez, CSEA

Jacqueline Flores, Confidential

Dr. Yoshiko Matsushita-Arao, FT Faculty

Daisy Nunez, PT Faculty

Cody Steele, Student

Ismael Ramirez, L-39

Bronwyn Moreno, Management

Trustees Manuel Osorio, Pat Donohue, and Candi DePauw were present and helped congratulate the recipients. In addition, retirees Mary Cousineau and Carol Kimbrough were recognized for their years of work at the institution.

As an added bonus, I had a surprise for everybody! A branded pull-over for all employees, including part-time faculty. These can be claimed at the President’s Office.

Happy Holidays and a happy New Year to you and yours!
