Hartnell College and its governing board want to thank Salinas Valley voters for passing Measure H by inviting them to a celebration to be held on campus Thursday, January 9th. The event will be held from 2.30 to 4.30 p.m. in the College Center. There will be acknowledgements of community support as well as musical entertainment and refreshments.
Hartnell President Edward Valeau said, "passage of Measure H will assure future Hartnell students of having up-to-date buildings and equipment as well as a safe learning environment".
The $131 million bond measure will fund safety upgrades, energy efficiency improvements, additional classrooms and a new library, replacing the present structure built in 1959. The measure also will finance the modernization of existing buildings, the upgrade of electrical systems, computers and lab equipments, as well as provide accessibility to more facilities by disabled individuals.
