Hartnell College is seeking nominations from the public for its annual Distinguished Alumnus/Alumna Award, to be awarded at the college’s commencement ceremonies on June 2.
The successful nominee will have achieved distinction in his or her chosen field of endeavor, will have demonstrated ongoing and extensive contributions to the college, or both. The selection will be made by the college’s Board of Trustees.
Recent awardees include former county schools superintendents Bill Barr of Monterey and August Scornaienchi of Alameda, Joe Pezzini, Mark Kennedy, Nathan J. Olivas, and Maria Giuriato, among others.
Nominations should be made before 5 p.m. on March 19 by calling the President’s Office at 831-755-6900 or by submitting a completed online form, which can be found on the college’s website at hartnell.edu/alumni/alumni_award2.html.
