Hartnell College and the Mission Trails Regional Occupational Program will host the 13th annual Non-Traditional Career Fair on Hartnell’s main campus in Salinas on Thursday, April 16, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
This hands-on non-traditional career and employment fair will present career options and employment opportunities for area job seekers, including high school students, Hartnell and other local college students, and anyone in the community looking to enter the work force. All Salinas Valley high school and middle school students will be invited to attend.
More than 50 local businesses have signed up to present at the fair, some with positions available. All exhibitors are seeking to introduce potential job seekers to the specific skill sets that they typically require, especially for entry-level positions.
There will be employer information and activity booths allowing participants to try their hand at different occupations from a wide range of fields, including healthcare, dentistry, floral design, mill work, cabinetry, carpentry, computer repair, auto repair, physical therapy, massage therapy, tractor repair and welding, cosmetology, administration of justice, agriculture, transportation, animal health, hospitality, food service, electronics, sales, among others.
The fair will be held on the Main Quad, the College Center, and surrounding areas of Hartnell’s campus at 411 Central Avenue.
