Party in the Library Continues to Amaze in 2014

May 8th, 2014

SALINAS, Calif. - Hartnell Community College District and the Hartnell College Foundation present Party in the Library 2014 - Roots, on Saturday, May 10, 2014 at 411 Central Avenue, Salinas, CA starting at 5:30 p.m.

This is the eighth year for this special fundraiser that helps to build engagement in the K-12 bridge programs, expands scholarship & internship opportunities, and develops new programs for our youth.

"Party in the Library has raised $1,100,000 since 2007," said Executive Director of Institutional Advancement and Hartnell College Foundation, Jacqueline Cruz. "This has helped in the creation of the Agricultural Institute, Science & Math Institute, the new Respiratory Care Practitioner program, the Center for Sustainable Design, plus research internships and scholarships have tripled."

In 2014, the Party is presenting the Hartnell College Foundation Leadership Award to Joanne Taylor Johnson for her tireless support to the local community and to Hartnell College.

The event will feature a roaming dinner, wines & martinis, an auction with Butch Lindley, and a special performance by America's Got Talent finalist and performance painter, David Garibaldi.

"Each year, the Hartnell College Foundation leverages the money raised at the Party and multiplies it many times over for our students," said Superintendent/President, Dr. Willard Lewallen.

Last year, more than $350,000 was raised at the Party in the Library - with this type of support, the Foundation is able to assist more students with scholarships and support them in their academic journey.
