The Field of Dreams

June 22nd, 2010

On April 15 the Hartnell College community celebrated the opening of Phase I of the Athletics Masterplan. Over 300 people gathered to marvel at the completely renovated baseball, softball and soccer fields and share the exhilaration of the Hartnell College Athletic department.

The facilities now feature an Olympic size natural grass soccer field, brand new dugouts, new sustainable turf on baseball and softball fields, new score boards, new press box, a 300 seat stadium for baseball, 175 for softball, and a state of the art plaza. The elevated plaza is strategically located between fields so that onlookers will be able to watch all games at the same time.

The Athletics Fundraising committee is actively working to raise $1 million.  Bruce Adams, VP of the Central Coast Federal Credit Union and member of the Hartnell College Foundation Board, chairs the Major Gifts Committee. “Our commitment to this campaign will ensure that the Athletic Department has the funding necessary to confidently recruit the brightest, most talented athletes. When complete, the Hartnell Athletic facilities will inspire student athletes for generations!”, says Bruce.   The Central Coast Federal Credit Union, California Water Service Co., Felice Consulting, and Bill Elliott were the first to give major gifts to support the Athletic Master plan.

You too can make a difference by being part of Hartnell’s Fields of Dream forever!
