Hartnell College Offers Entry-Level Law Enforcement Class

September 4th, 2008

The Administration of Justice Program at Hartnell College offers a Saturday class in Arrests and Firearms. The class begins on Saturday, September 6, and runs through December 13. It will be held from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. each week on the main campus.

Successful completion of the class, AJ 102, will award the student a PC 832 certification that lasts for three years. This certification is an entry-level requirement for anyone in the state of California who has the capabilities of exercising the powers of arrest, such as probation officers, corrections officers, welfare fraud investigators, park rangers, and correctional peace officers.

The class will be taught by John McCormick. Students must meet the Department of Justice qualifications for possessing a firearm.
