SALINAS, Calif. - The newly formed Hartnell Speech Team received multiple awards on November 4, 2013 at the Mustang Invitational Tournament held on the campus of Sacramento City College. The tournament included 24 schools, both two-year and four-year programs from Arizona, California, Oregon and Utah. The team took five awards home!
"It was exciting to see the team's potential," said Jason Hough, professor in Communications at Hartnell and the team's coach. "The team is a group of hardworking, dedicated students that have fallen in love with competitive forensics, and I am thrilled to be the coach!"
The team worked hard to perfect presentations in a multitude of categories. Professor Hough made arrangements to drive them to Sacramento saying it was worth the effort. These are the winners and categories:
Other teammates and participants include, Julia Felice, Maria Hernandez, Daniel Ibarra, Angelica Jubane, Richelle Mendez, Miguel Padilla, and Alyssa Rendon.
