Hartnell College to Celebrate Kwanzaa Dec. 5
December 3rd, 2003
The Associated Students of Hartnell College will celebrate Kwanzaa - the African American cultural holiday - on Friday, Dec. 5.
The college's 6th annual celebration, which will include a six-course soul food dinner and entertainment, will begin at 6:30 p.m. in Steinbeck Hall of the College Center. The public is invited to attend.
Drumming, storytelling and other entertainment will be provided by Tabia, a San Jose African American theater ensemble.
Tickets are available at the cashier's office in the Classroom/Administration Building (CAB) and also will be available at the door. They are $ 3 general admission, $2 children (ages 6-12), and free for children ages 5 and under.
The Kwanzza celebration is rooted in the first harvest celebrations practiced in various cultures in Africa.
