Hartnell College Staff Members Collect Holiday Gifts
for Local Group
December 17th, 2003
Thanks to the generosity of Hartnell College staff members and students, Men in Transition (MIT), a drug and alcohol treatment program in Salinas, will have gifts under their trees this holiday season.
Hartnell's Classified Senate - a group composed of non-teaching staff members - collected all kinds of gifts, including clothing and food items, from faculty, staff and students.
The gifts were wrapped and will be presented to MIT director Reginald Bennett on Friday, Dec. 19, at 11 a.m. in the board room of the Classroom/Administration Building (CAB) by Hartnell President Edward J. Valeau and Otis O'Neal, president of Hartnell's Classified Senate and electronics/video technician on campus.
"The Classified Senate," said O'Neal, "decided to 'adopt' a local agency during the holiday season. We chose MIT because of the hard work the organization does in helping men become drug-free"
