School Programs

Teachers, expand your students' learning experience with a field trip to our planetarium!

 

For Fall 2008 School Year, programs are given

on most Fall 2008, Monday, Thursday & Fridays, at 9:45am, 11am and 12:30pm from September 8 through December 19

For availability on specific dates, please check our calendar here.

If you need to attend on a different day or time, other slots may be made available.

Our star theater has comfortable seating for 45 people, with a maximum
capacity of 60, including chaperones. You must arrange additional showings
to accomodate groups larger than 60. We offer age appropriate programming
for all grade levels, from pre-schoolers on up. A sky tour by a live presenter
supplements information in entertaining and informative pre-recorded shows.
Custom presentationsand additional activities can be added by special arrangement.

* "Sky Tonight" programs are our seasonal star shows that give an overview
of some of the constellations and stars visible at each time of year and tell
stories of some of the myths and legends associated with these "star pictures."
Titles in the series are "The Stars of Autumn," "Winter Tales,"
"A Dipper Full of Stars" and "Summer Colors."

Rent the Stars

The Planetarium is now available for rental by special arrangements. Hold your organizations next meeting, special event, office or birthday party in this unique, immersive environment.

Starting at $195 and up, the planetarium comes with a Hartnell Staff presenter and a star show of your choice. Custom presentations are possible with an additional charge.

Fremont Peak Observatory


Interested in looking through a large telescope? For a fun astronomy adventure, attend a public night at the nearby Fremont Peak Observatory. They are open most Saturday evenings. Be sure to get the details at
