Required and Desired Qualifications and Characteristics
- Master’s degree from an accredited institution, earned doctorate preferred.
- Minimum of three years of documented successful administrative experience in higher education, preferably in community colleges.
- Proven effectiveness in shared governance and collective bargaining or documentation of similar experience.
- Demonstrated knowledge of effective teaching and learning processes at the college level.
- Demonstrated record of community service and involvement, particularly in culturally diverse settings.
- Sensitivity to and understanding of diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students including those with disabilities. Demonstrated record of working effectively with the Mexican/Mexican American/Chicano community preferred.
- Experience with, or working knowledge of, technology and a vision of its uses.
