Hartnell College Rockets and Robotics Club

 

Mission Statement: The mission of the Rockets and Robotics club is to get students excited about science and math by allowing them to participate in engaging educational activities in rocketry and robotics.  

Activities: The club participates in two main activities. 

In the December, the club host the Robotics Olympics.  Here students from Hartnell and the local high schools compete in three exciting competitions involving the programming and wiring of Parallax Boe-Bot robots.  These competition include: 1) Programming Competition 2) Line Following Competition and 3) Maze Competition.

In June, the club participates in the International Marine Advanced Technology Education (MATE) Remotely Operated Vehicle (ROV) competition.  This competition involves building an underwater robot capable of completing mission tasks, writing an engineering technical report, poster presentation, and engineering presentation.
