James said that there are 170 followers of Twitter and 138 followers of AlertU. By twittering emergency alerts this is one way one can be alerted, but there are a limited number of persons who can send these alerts. By working with student this can be student driven. Ron Waddy pointed out that one way that the college can start a student drive for Twitter notification is through promotion of some sort. Terri Pyer said we can get key people involved and target Tweets at noon to keep students on campus and build community.
James said that Twitter can be a replacement for AlertU. We have 138 subscribers for AlertU and 170 subscribers for Twitter, all subscribers can apply free from the web. Messages to post contains 140 characters, we can change that.
