Welcome to the Hartnell College EOPS/CARE program homepage!

EOPS/ CARE

The Hartnell College Office of Extended Opportunity Program and Services (EOPS) provides support services to first generation, low income, under-represented college students; furthermore, the Cooperative Agencies Resources for Education (CARE) program provides additional support services to EOPS single-parent students receiving public assistance and have at least one child under the age of 14. The EOPS/CARE staff advocates for students and is committed to helping them successfully achieve their educational goals.

(Important Notice: As of January 2010, our office is located on the first floor of the CALL Building across from the Library.

ATTENTION: Due to the California state budget cuts, the EOPS Office is not accepting applications for new students for the spring 2010 semester. However, we are accepting applications for the CARE program.

EOPS has gone GREEN and will communicate ALL information online and via email. Spring 2010 Progress Reports have already been sent to your Hartnell Student GMAIL account and are availble to print HERE.

EOPS/CARE SPRING 2010 CALENDAR

JANUARY

  • January 19: EOPS book credits will be available for all continuing students.

FEBRUARY

  • February 5: Last day to use the EOPS book credit

MARCH

  • March 26*: Deadline for 1st contact *EXTENSION
  • March 22: March in March in Sacramento
  • March 29-April 2: Spring Break

APRIL

  • April 16: Deadline for 2nd contact/Progress Report
  • April 30: Deadline for Cap and Gown Sign Up
  • TBA: CARE/CalWORKs Workshop

MAY

  • TBA: Student Recognition Ceremony

JUNE

  • June 2: Deadline for 3rd contact
    • Last Day of Spring Semester
    • Graduation Ceremony

 

*REMINDER:The priority filing period for your 2010-2011 FAFSA Cal Grant application is between January 1st and March 2nd.

NEED financial aid assistance?
Financial Aid staff is available Monday & Thursday 8:00 a.m.- 7:00 p.m., Tuesday & Wednesday 1:00 p.m.- 7:00 p.m. and closed on Friday. For special accomodations you can make an appointment at the Financial Aid Office, or by calling 755-6806.

ONLINE/DISTANCE EDUCATION STUDENTS The Hartnell College EOPS/CARE program is not set up to services Internet-based, Distance Education students who live outside the Hartnell College Services area. To receive services, you must physically live within the Hartnell College service area.
