In recognition of the wealth of talent that exists in
Monterey County High School Theatre programs, and the dedication of area Drama
teachers to continue to create and develop opportunities for their students,
The Western Stage is introducing its first annual High School Theatre
Conference, OnStge, in Spring 2005!
The purpose of this conference is three-fold:
Students have the opportunity to participate in
various breakout sessions that appeal to their interests. Actors will be given the opportunity to
perform a short scene, monologue, or song and to receive feedback from the
experienced TWS resident staff and instructors. Other performance breakout sessions will explore stage combat,
using/handling props, and even beginning tap dance!
If a student’s preference is behind-the-scenes rather
than in the spotlight there are also valuable tech breakout sessions that delve
into costume design, basic carpentry, sewing, and more!
Onstge will
be held April 23 & 24 at The Western Stage, Hartnell College, 411 Central
Ave. in Salinas. Call 755-6987 for more
information and registration forms.
