Celebrate World Kindness Day with Salinas Stories Playback Theatre Ensemble

 

Share your story with the Salinas Stories Playback Theatre Ensemble! Playback Theatre is an original form of improvisational theatre – a spontaneous and unique collaboration between performers and audience. The Western Stage has been given an award from the National Endowment for the Arts to develop a new theatrical piece in celebration of Salinas’ rich heritage. The Salinas Stories Playback Theatre Ensemble will be sharing stories in concert with World Kindness Day on Sunday, November 13th at 7pm at the Cabaret Oldtown Theater, 215 Lincoln Avenue, Salinas.  Donations for the Salinas Stories project will be accepted.  (95 Word PSA)

 

The Western Stage has been given an award from the National Endowment for the Arts to develop a new theatrical piece in celebration of Salinas’ rich heritage, tentatively titled Salinas Stories.  Under the direction of Lorenzo Aragon (Rain of Gold 2003 & 2005), participants in the project will utilize Playback Theatre to cultivate stories from participants and transform them into a theatrical compilation.  The Salinas Stories Playback Theatre Ensemble will give a special workshop performance in concert with World Kindness Day In preparation for this important undertaking on Sunday, November 13 at 7 pm at the Cabaret Oldtown Theater.

Playback is an original form of improvisational theatre.  It is a spontaneous and unique collaboration between performers and audience.  Playback Theatre invites personal stories, told in community to honor and celebrate our shared humanity.  Playback Theatre invites every voice and any story, the opportunity to be heard and told.
