The Western Stage Continues Its Pearl Jubilee Celebrations

The Western Stage continues its Pearl Jubilee festivities with “The Promise of the Future”; the final “Pearl” in the string of special events presented by TWS to celebrate its 30th Anniversary. This special evening will honor the innumerable young people that have come through the doors of The Western Stage.  They are actors, directors, playwrights, teachers, publishing professionals, and graduates of many prestigious colleges such as Harvard and Yale.  “The Promise of the Future” will be presented Monday, October 18th at 8:00 PM on the Mainstage, Hartnell College Performing Arts Building. Admission is free.  (70 word PSA)

The Sunday matinee performance of Sweeney Todd on October 24th will mark 30 years since Ron Danko founded the company which would later bear the name “The Western Stage”.  His 1974 production of That Championship Season would celebrate the newly constructed Performing Arts Building on the campus of Hartnell College. In commemoration of this milestone, The Western Stage has been presenting a series of special Pearl Jubilee performances featuring some of TWS’ most talented artists. It is a unique opportunity for the theater and the community to come together and take a fresh look at the past, present and future of The Western Stage.

The final “Pearl” in this string of special events will be “The Promise of the Future”, a look back at previous Young Company members and the exciting things they have gone on to accomplish.  They are actors, directors, playwrights, teachers, publishing professionals, and graduates of many prestigious colleges such as Harvard and Yale.  This evening offers answers to “Where are they now?” as we take a look at the way they were just a few years ago and what they are doing now.  This final event will be presented on Monday, October 18th at 8:00 pm on the Mainstage.

Admission to these programs is free, however donations collected will help fund TWS’ student scholarship program, which makes projects like this possible.
