The Western Stage (TWS) is preparing to celebrate its 30th Anniversary, and we are looking for talented actors, singers, and dancers to make this milestone season come alive. It does not matter what your experience level, TWS endeavors to provide opportunities for novices and seasoned veterans alike. The main stage shows, in particular, offer performers of every size, shape, and age a wonderful opportunity to shine in some of the best-loved shows in musical theatre.

In July, the classic musical farce Hello, Dolly takes the stage. Featuring veteran TWS actress Donna Federico as the incomparable matchmaker Dolly Levi, this high-energy musical comedy dishes up music and laughter like no other. If you can dance, sing, or act like a complete clown, then this play definitely has a place for you.

In October, a host of ghoulish characters terrorize the stage in Stephen Sondheim’s macabre classic Sweeney Todd. Reg Huston heads the cast as the bloodthirsty “demon barber of Fleet Street”. It promises to be a Halloween treat.

Auditions for these two musicals classics are being held February 21-22 at The Western Stage, in residence at Hartnell College. A list of available roles for each show can be found at www.westernstage.org. To schedule an audition, call Jim McLean at 759-6037.
