Message from the Director
I am honored and excited to serve as the Director for the Soledad Education Center on behalf of Hartnell College. Being a first-generation student growing up in the small town of Castroville, I know how far and unattainable college can feel. My goal is to serve the whole family and make higher education accessible to the Soledad community.
Courses offered at the Soledad Education Center will allow students to attain a degree for transfer, certificate, and/or build on their English skills through credit and noncredit courses. Support services will be available in English and Spanish for enrollment support, Admissions and Records, Financial assistance, Academic Counseling, tutoring, and more. Special programs such as TRiO, EOPS, and the Teacher Pathway will also be present. The Center will also serve as the hub for the Rising Scholars Program which serves currently incarcerated housed at the two prisons located in Soledad as well as the Monterey County Jail and Youth Center. The on-site community room will be available for local groups and agencies to meet and network.
Courses and services will be available remotely starting this summer 2021. We look forward to serving you.
Saludos,
Ana González
