Basketball teams look ahead after touch opening stretch

Hartnell Men’s and Women’s basketball are both looking for their first conference win. The Panther men are 7-11 overall and 0-2 in conference. They beat Ohlone at home on Jan. 3, 79-69, but lost road games against Gavilan (55-84) on Jan. 9 and Allan Hancock (82-85) on Jan. 12. The women are 3-11 overall and 0-2 in conference. They lost an away game to Gavilan (42-59) on Jan. 9 and struggled against Cabrillo at home (36-79) on Jan. 11. The men will play San Jose City at home on Jan. 16, and both squads will play at Monterey Peninsula on Jan. 25.
