Hartnell’s East Alisal Campus invites you to an Open House

 

SALINAS, Calif. – Hartnell College and the Agricultural Business and Technology Institute invite the community to the 2016 Open House on Saturday, October 22, 2016at the Alisal Campus on 1752 E. Alisal Street, Salinas, CA.  

 

Attendees will have the opportunity to talk to students, meet the faculty, ask the industry about jobs, enjoy a great lunch, and explore the Alisal campus and all of the career technical education programs available. The festivities will be from 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. with an awards presentation at noon.  Families will enjoy a variety of demonstrations, food, and free parking. In addition:

  • enjoy hands-on demonstrations by current Hartnell students
  • learn from industry representatives who will highlight their equipment and will be  available to answer career, job and internship inquiries 
  • featured programs include: advanced diesel technology, advanced automotive technology, plant science, soil science, entomology, welding, robotics, food safety

 

At 12:00 p.m., there will be an awards ceremony to recognize students who have recently completed industry recognized certificates connected to skill based and equipment based proficiencies.  As Doug Kenyon of Republic Services notes, “Hartnell’s Advanced Diesel Technology Program trains tomorrow’s technicians today.”

 

Keith Severson from Graniterock said “The construction industry is busy and the need for qualified mechanics is great at this time.  The interns and new hires from Hartnell College have been outstanding.”

 

Hartnell counselors will be present to answer questions about enrollment at Hartnell, registration for the coming spring semester, and financial aid.
