The seventh seeded Panthers beat the second seeded team from San Francisco City College, 1-0, in a Northern California semifinal playoff game in Balboa Park in San Francisco on Tuesday. The lone score, by freshman Eduardo Verduzco, came in double overtime, making this the second consecutive year that Hartnell upset San Francisco's dreams of going to the state championships.

Hartnell will meet the number three seed Cabrillo College team at the turf field at MPC on Saturday, Nov. 29, at 6 p.m. Cabrillo played on that field to beat Fresno City on Tuesday, 1-0.

This is a rubber match of sorts, since Hartnell has met Cabrillo twice this season, winning the first outing, 2-0, and losing the second, 1-2.
