Agenda #2

Topic:Relocation of Nursing Program ($250,00 Annual Savings)
Presenter:
Summary of Agenda Item:The focus will be on the first two of these recommendations.

The first proposal concerns the Nursing Program being moved to the 2nd floor of the CALL building. Nursing Program has requirements for their labs and equipment. Natividad currently houses the Nursing Program; in Natividad has a lab, a high fidelity room and debriefing room. The debriefing room is particularly important because this is where students are trained in the practical component of the program. One of the classrooms in Natividad is also set up for Distance Education Learning, but that equipment can be moved. Also, that particular equipment if moved to Hartnell, would not just be used for Nursing, but for other classes. If Nursing is relocated to Hartnell, offices are needed for 11 employees(Faculty/Classified). There are currently six (6) vacant offices. The only building that would provide an adequate space for this relocation is the CALL building.
Action(s) required:Recommendation by RAC Committee approved motion for discussion/action.

Agenda #3

Topic:Model for a New Student Services Center ($33,000 Savings)
Presenter:Dr. Greg Peterson
Summary of Agenda Item:A proposal was set forth to create a 'One Stop' Student Services Center on the CALL building's 1st floor. Have all Student Services offices centralized to make it 'One Stop' for the students. The proposed Student Services Center will house the cashier, a Welcome Center, Enrollment Specialists, workstations (To emphasize on-line registration), and Assessment Centers that can accomodate even more students. The proposed design will also house the Admission and Records and Financial Aid together.
Action(s) required:Recommendation by RAC approved motions were sent to this committee for discussion/action.

Agenda #4

Topic:CALL Building: Implement ALC Redesign & Cluster Model ($130,00 savings)
Presenter:
Summary of Agenda Item:2nd floor of the CALL building can house 13,000 square feet, which would be an adequate space for the Nursing program. The building also has the water access and drainage needed for the labs. All smart classroom equipment currently housed in Natividad is Hartnell property and can be transferred to the CALL buidling. The CALL building can also keep all of the Student Services housed in one area on the first floor, thus serving as a Welcome Center since the building is centrally located, closed to the parking garage, and faces the street. CALL building would be utilized for various purposes, thereby increasing efficiency. The building can be utilized for: assessments, smart classroom, Distance Learning, Nursing, and Student Services.
Action(s) required:Recommendation by RAC approved motions were sent to this committee for discussion/action.
