Welcome! to the Academic Learning Center!


**In the Spring of 2013, the Annex will be closed for demolition and the construction of our new science building, so the labs will be moved to new locations on campus. The Tutorial Center will be relocated to Library/LRC 214 (Building A) and the Math L-Series to CAB 219 (Building E). Outside view of the former Academic Learning Center Annex
The Academic Learning Center Labs provide remedial and developmental instruction for academically under-prepared students; they also offer supplemental and stimulating instruction for students interested in developing and improving particular reading, writing, English, language, mathematics, study skills, and computer skills.
The former (Annex) Tutorial Center

The Tutorial Center offers free English workshops, Math and Chemistry Academy Lifeline Tutoring, Supplemental Instruction (SI), study groups, and peer tutoring for a variety of academic courses. The Center recruits, hires, and trains supplemental instruction leaders, group tutors and drop-in tutors, as well as coordinates SI and tutorial services to students, individually or in small groups. Students interested in teaching careers are strongly encourged to apply for tutorial positions.

The Academic Learning Center provides a friendly, comfortable, open, and intellectually stimulating approach to developmental, supplemental, tutorial, and multi-disciplinary instruction. The environment is individualized, self-paced, and rich in multicultural, multimedia, and computer-assisted instruction.
