Steps to Enroll for On-Line courses (Fall & Spring)
- Apply for Admissions by using Hartnell’s On-line application--Applications may take 1 -2 working days to process.
- Register using PAWS for Students at www.hartnell.edu or ASAP* Telephone Registration at (831) 755-6755.
- If the class is CLOSED (full), you may place yourself on the waitlist. You MUST then contact the instructor to see if there is space available in the section by email or by phone. If the faculty member decides to add you into the class, the faculty member will then bring the signed add slip to Admissions & Records for processing by the late registration deadline. Be sure that your Application for Admission has already been received.
- Once the class has begun, and there is still space available, you may register in the section up until the Thursday of the 2nd week of the semester by using PAWS (for students) to register.
Note: Distance Education sections are the only sections that are being allowed to add without a signed add slip once classes have begun.
- If you are planning on enrolling in 6.0 units or more, you must enroll in COU-21. We offer one section of COU-21 on-line which you must enroll in at the same time you are enrolling in all of your other sections; or you may submit a Challenge of Exam for COU-21. This may take up to two working days to process.
- Pay your fees – Fees are due by Friday of the 2nd week of classes. If payment is not received, you will have a “HOLD” placed on your record. Payment may be made by calling the ASAP* Phone registration line at (831) 755-6755 or by mailing in your payment to the Cashier’s Office. Be sure to include with your payment your student ID # or your SSN.

DROPPING: Students may use PAWS (for students) to drop courses. Please see the current Semester Calendar at www.hartnell.edu for specific drop deadline dates.
REFUNDS: Students must first drop their class by the refund deadline in order to obtain a refund of fees.
