General Biology Lab (Bio 10)
Biology 10 is a general introduction the biological sciences. In this course we will focus on the diversity of life on this planet with respect to morphology, ecology, heredity, and evolution. We will explore cell structures, chemistry and functions in order to understand the fundamental similarities and differences between living organisms. We will also discuss the impact biology has on the physical environment (and vise-versa) in order to think critically about topical issues such as global warming, rising fuel costs and alternative energy sources, habitat conservation efforts, and fisheries management policies among others. My goal is for the student to develop an interest and/or lose their fear of the natural sciences and go on to study in detail fields of personal interest.

Welcome to Bio 10 Lab
This semester we will be working out of a new lab manual that is available from your lab instructor. Extra copies were made and you are the beneficiary. It was written by Dr. Katherine Harris right here at Hartnell. You are not required to turn in any of the labs, however you will be taking quizzes and the quizzes will often consist of questions taken directly from the lab manual. Similarly, the midterm and final will both be open book so the more thorough you are, the better you will do. Good luck this semester and be sure to provide any feedback you have regarding the labs. The first assignment has no set due date... on the left you will find a link to the metric test. Turn this in as soon as you complete it but be aware that if it is not 100% correct, it will be returned. I will tell you the number of questions you missed but not which questions you missed. This assignment is worth two quizzes so make sure you get it in!
