Panther Pride (Athletics)
Advanced training for lifelong fitness, building healthy hearts, minds, and bodies through fitness and athletic competition.
| A master plan is currently under development in the area of athletics as part of Measure H bond funding. Specific projects are being identified and an athletics committee will work to define an appropriate fundraising goal over the next few months. |
Hartnell students, both those who come to community college to embark on a college career of intercollegiate athletic competition and those who know that a healthy body complements a healthy mind, rely on Hartnell’s excellent fitness resources, many of which need updates or expansion.
Some examples of areas of need in the athletic facilities are described below.
Expansion of the fitness area is needed to include adaptive equipment, a cardio-spin room, a place for free weights, a strength and conditioning room, a matted yoga or stretching room, new fit-tech computer system, and amenities that include a new bathroom, lockers and cubbies, sound system, and storage area.
Renovations to the baseball and softball fields are needed to add dugouts, synthetic playing surfaces, batting cages, fan bleachers, and a fence around the facility.
To round out our program so that we can teach golf skills, we need funds to install a fenced-in driving range and putting greens.
