WATER DISTRIBUTION PROGRAM


Introduction

The Water Distribution Program at Hartnell College consists of twelve training modules.

Training focuses on developing new and existing water distribution operators with

the knowledge and skills required to operate and maintain water systems effectively

Participants will gain valuable information to enhance their operational skills,

making them more effective at their job or ready to obtain State of California

Water Distribution Certificates. This program is also CWEA certified for

current employees who wish to improve their current certification level o

r maintain their required contact hours.

    Backflow Prevention Testing Program

    Our new Backflow Testing Program is a 40-hour

    course designed to prepare students for the AWWA

    Backflow Prevention Assembly General Tester examination

    . Training will include exerts from the USC Cross Connection

    Control Manual, videos, and exposure to all types of backflow

    prevention assemblies for practical, hands-on experience

    in preparation for testing.

    Students interested in an AWWA certificate must

    attend a minimum of 40 hours.

    Students will have the opportunity to take the

    AWWA General Testers examination at

    the conclusion of the course for an additional $60.

    Classes will be held at the Municipal Service

    Center at 320 Harvest Dr. in Watsonville .
