Steps to Attending Hartnell College

- Complete and submit a Hartnell College admissions application to Admissions and Records (A&R), 755-6711, or apply click here to apply online from your home or in the P.A.W.S. Web Room in Admissions & Records.
- Apply for Financial Aid, or apply online: www.studentaid.ed.gov or http://www.fafsa.ed.gov/
- Bring your official transcripts (DON’T open envelope) from your high school or other schools and turn them in to A&R or give them to your DSPS Counselor.
- Make an appointment with a Hartnell DSPS Counselor to complete an intake and an education plan.
- Take the Orientation Course, Counseling 21.
- Take the STAAR* Test; call 759-6054 to find dates and times.
- Read a Schedule of Classes. Talk to your counselors, parents, and friends to develop your college plans.
- Take a tour of Hartnell (self guided or scheduled).
- Register for classes by telephone, 755-6755, or click here to use P.A.W.S.
- Pay all registration fees at the Cashier’s Office.
- Obtain your Student ID Card.
- Follow-up with appointments with your DSP&S Counselor at least FOUR (4) Times per year.
- Apply for services at the Department of Rehabilitation, 980 Blanco Circle, Suite 280 Salinas, Ca 93901, (831) 769-8066. (You may also get a referral from DSP&S.)
- Plan your finances ahead of time.
