How to Apply to EOPS/CARE

Thank you for your interest in the EOPS and/or CARE Programs. By following the steps below, you can enroll quickly and allow our staff to begin providing you with EOPS/CARE services.

It's easy: Apply to Hartnell, Apply for Financial Aid-- then, apply to EOPS/CARE.

How to Apply to Hartnell College

1A. Enroll in Hartnell: To be an EOP&S/CARE participant, you must be a Hartnell student and file a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) with the Financial Aid Office.

1B. Now that you are a Hartnell College student, and you have completed the Financial Aid FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) process (including the BOG Fee Waiver) you are ready to apply for EOPS.

2. Return a completed EOPS Application with a copy of your current semester schedule to the EOPS office. You can download a copy of the Application from this web site and submit it to the EOPS office. EOPS information can also be found in the Schedule of Classes.

3. Enroll in twelve units. Note: You will receive a letter from EOPS about one week after your financial aid information is in the Hartnell College system.

4. Attend an EOPS/CARE orientation. Anyone can attend an EOPS orientation before being accepted into the EOPS program. Check with the EOPS office for the dates and times of upcoming EOPS orientations.

5. Schedule an appointment with an EOPS/CARE counselor to develop and/or update your four semester educational plan. EOPS/CARE counselors will evaluate your specific educational and career goals with you.
